Why we’re still talking about Mocka

If you’ve been following Little Sunny Coast for a while, you’ll know we share playgrounds, family activities and places to visit with little kids. So when we started talking about a furniture store, we thought it was worth explaining why.

When we started Little Sunny Coast, our goal was to make life a little easier for other parents. As two mums raising four little kids between us, we know how overwhelming motherhood can feel, so we’ve always made one promise to our community. We only recommend things we’ve genuinely tried and loved ourselves. Mocka is one of those brands.

Long before Little Sunny Coast existed, we were both preparing our nurseries for our first babies. After plenty of research, we both chose Mocka.

Our children came home to Mocka cots, slept on Mocka mattresses and, in my case, my youngest is still sleeping in hers today. It’s a brand that’s quietly been part of our motherhood from the very beginning, so when Mocka opened its first flagship store at Maroochydore Homemaker Centre, we couldn’t wait to visit.

What surprised us most was that Mocka is so much more than children’s furniture. Alongside the beautiful nursery displays, we found gorgeous dining tables, bedroom furniture, armchairs and home décor. Zara immediately fell in love with the queen bed with built in storage, while I was already imagining a few pieces in my own home.

The people also left a lasting impression. Every time we’ve visited, the team has been genuinely warm, welcoming and happy to help. After learning more about the business, that made perfect sense. Mocka’s CEO, Catherine Williamson, is passionate about putting customers first and building great teams, and you really feel that reflected in the experience of visiting the store.

One thing we also loved discovering was Mocka’s connection to the Sunshine Coast. While this is their first flagship store, their very first warehouse was based right here on the Coast, making this opening feel like a homecoming of sorts.

So if you’ve been wondering why we’ve been talking about Mocka a little more than usual, this is why. It’s still about sharing something we’ve genuinely loved ourselves. Sometimes that’s a playground, sometimes it’s a family activity, and sometimes it’s the cot your baby comes home to.

This article was created in partnership with Maroochydore Homemaker Centre. As always, every recommendation and opinion is our own, and we only share places and businesses we’d genuinely recommend to local families.
