The kids were fascinated by everything growing around them, from the seasonal fruit and veggie beds to the buzzing beehives, compost bins and worm farms. We even spotted blue tongue lizards and grasshoppers while we explored.

We were lucky enough to meet Simon during our visit, and he was so welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to show us around and answer all of our questions, which made the experience even more interesting for the kids.

It’s such a hands on way to introduce little ones to gardening, sustainability and where their food actually comes from. The Urban Farm grows fresh seasonal produce without harmful chemical insecticides or herbicides and uses practices including regenerative agriculture, biodynamics and natural fertilisers.

You can support the farm while you’re there too, with fresh seasonal produce, honey, seedlings, plants, worms and natural fertilisers available to purchase.

It’s not somewhere you need hours to explore, but it’s a really interesting little stop with the kids and a lovely way to show them how much goes into growing the food we eat.

We visited April 2025. While we do our best to keep our listings up to date, information can change. We recommend checking the business’s website or social media before visiting.
