The Local Parklakes honestly has everything we look for in an easy family catch up. Great food, great drinks and a playground literally next door.

We often organise play dates here because you can see the playground from the cafe. You can start with breakfast, finish with lunch or head down for an early dinner on one of their later nights. And yes, you can buy wine and beer!

The kids menu is great, our dippy egg had a smiley face on it, do I need to say more? Another thing we love is that where you place your order is super close to the tables, which makes life that little bit easier when you’ve got kids with you.

Although there is limited parking in the car park, there is plenty of street parking. The playground next door is great for different ages and even has a flying fox. We always take our wheels too because there’s a great loop for the kids to ride around.

It’s such an easy option for your next play date, especially when you want somewhere the kids can play while you catch up over a coffee or something to eat.
