The Ginger Factory has saved me SO many times when I’ve needed to get out of the house with the kids. You can spend very little and still have plenty to do, or add a train or boat ride and make a whole morning of it.

There is SO much here for little ones, and one of our absolute favourites has always been Moreton the Ginger Train. It’s a 15 minute ride in open air carriages through the gardens and around the factory site, and my son absolutely loves waving to everyone as we go past.

Overboard is another favourite for the whole family. It’s an indoor boat ride with music and animated puppets that takes you on an adventure around the world. My little one took a minute to warm up to it the first time, but once he did, he loved taking everything in.

Then there are all the things you can explore without paying for a ride. The Zog Trail takes you through the gardens on a little adventure, Little Explorers gives younger kids a soft play space to climb and explore, and Bee trice the jumping castle is another fun one for burning off some energy.

There are also playgrounds, beautiful gardens and plenty of space to wander, so you really can make the visit as big or as simple as you want.

For food, The Ginger Kitchen is open daily with meals, coffee, drinks and light refreshments, and Gingerlatis is there when an ice cream is calling. Outside food and picnics are currently not permitted, so that’s worth knowing before you pack the snack bag.

The pathways are pram friendly and there are accessible toilets and plenty of free parking, which makes it a really easy outing with little ones. The only attraction that isn’t mobility accessible is the Overboard Boat Ride.
