The train was easily one of our favourite parts when we visited. It takes you through the Big Pineapple grounds and Wildlife HQ, with plenty for little ones to look at along the way.

There’s also a playground that was perfect for our toddler when we visited, with a climbing wall and slide giving him somewhere to burn off some energy before or after the train.

Of course, you can’t come here without stopping at the Big Pineapple itself. It’s such an iconic piece of Sunshine Coast history and makes for a fun photo with the kids while you’re there.

We found it really easy to get around with the pram, and there was plenty of parking when we visited. Toilets with a change table were also available, which always makes an outing with little ones that bit easier.

You can combine your visit with Wildlife HQ next door if you want to turn it into a bigger day out, with Zoo and Train combination tickets available.

One thing to keep in mind is that the playground didn’t have shade when we visited in 2024, so hats, sunscreen and avoiding the hottest part of the day were definitely worthwhile.

We visited July 2024. While we do our best to keep our listings up to date, information can change. We recommend checking The Big Pineapple’s website or social media for current train times, pricing and attraction availability before visiting.
