Sunshine Coast Railway Modellers Society Miniature Railway

For $3 a ride, this has to be one of the sweetest little outings for train loving kids on the Coast. My little guy couldn’t get enough, and honestly, watching the miniature trains come around the track is pretty fun for the adults too.

My little guy couldn’t get enough of the miniature trains when we visited. There are different trains running around almost 1km of track, and you can choose to have one ride or grab a pass and go around again and again.

We arrived early and only had a short wait to ride. It can get busy as the day goes on, but there are usually multiple trains running, which helps keep the line moving and little ones happy.

The whole place has such a lovely community feel, and the volunteers are so passionate about the railway, which really adds to the experience. There’s plenty of grass to set up a picnic rug, as well as picnic tables if you want to make a morning of it.

There’s also a sausage sizzle, sweet treats and drinks available, so you can grab something while you’re there. We even saw a few birthday parties happening when we visited.

The passes are great value if your little one wants multiple rides, and you don’t need to use them all on the same visit, so you can bring your remaining rides back another month.

One really important thing to know before you go is that everyone riding the trains must wear enclosed footwear, so make sure there are no thongs or open toe shoes.

The trains don’t operate in wet weather, so it’s worth checking the Sunshine Coast Railway Modellers Society Facebook page before heading along if the weather looks questionable.

We visited August 2025. While we do our best to keep our listings up to date, information can change. We recommend checking the Sunshine Coast Railway Modellers Society before visiting.
