We stumbled across this playground while looking for somewhere new, but it was actually the wetlands next door that became my little oneโ€™s favourite part! He loved sitting in the bird hide watching all the different birds, including one very friendly white duck.

Thereโ€™s plenty to explore at the playground itself, with climbing equipment, swings, a fire pole, slide and a cute little Perren Family Park Bakery for imaginary play. Thereโ€™s also a basketball half court and plenty of space for little ones to run around.

Definitely bring the scooter for this one and head into the adjoining Parklakes Wetland and Bushland Conservation Reserve. The pathways take you through the wetlands to the bird hide and viewing areas, and itโ€™s such a lovely little addition to a playground visit.

A little tip from us, when you come through the rainforest section, head right rather than left over the bridge if you donโ€™t want to end up on the much longer route like we did!

We visited March 2025. While we do our best to keep our listings up to date, information can change. We recommend checking Sunshine Coast Councilโ€™s website before visiting.
