There is something pretty special about taking your kids back to a place you remember exploring when you were little, and this short mountain walk was such a good adventure with ours.

I have great memories of walking up here as a kid and having an early picnic dinner while watching the sunset with my family, so it was lovely to come back years later with my own kids.

The walk is around 1km return and our oldest absolutely loved it. He walked the whole way and was so excited to make it to the top of the mountain. The first section follows a relatively easy concrete path through the bushland to the first lookout, which is around 130m from the car park and is the most accessible part of the walk.

From there, the track continues towards the summit with some steps and more exposed sections. Once you reach the top, you’re rewarded with beautiful panoramic views across Noosa and the hinterland.

We did this walk with two adults, and with more than one young child we’d recommend doing the same. There are exposed edges around the summit and it isn’t completely fenced, so it’s definitely somewhere you’ll want to keep little ones close.

It’s a short walk that still gives kids that feeling of having climbed a mountain, which made this such a fun little adventure for ours.
