Music, movement and sensory play all rolled into one class, Making Rainbows was such a beautiful activity for both of my kids. We joined the mixed age class with my 4.5 year old and 2.5 year old, and I loved finding something they could genuinely enjoy together.

Every part of the session felt really intentional, with a mix of music, movement and sensory play that kept both kids moving, exploring and involved from start to finish.
Jo, who runs the Sunshine Coast classes, is incredible with the kids. She creates such a calm, welcoming space where they can join in at their own pace, and you can tell how thoughtfully each session is put together.
We went during beach theme week, so everything had an ocean feel, with music shakers, drumming on buckets, bells, a sensory rice bin filled with sea creatures, a surfboard, jumping animals on the lycra and a big ocean sheet the kids could lie underneath.
The classes use music, movement and sensory play to support things like coordination, confidence and social development, but from the kidsβ perspective theyβre simply singing, dancing, playing and exploring.
One of my favourite things was being able to take both kids to the same mixed age class. Finding an activity that genuinely works for a two year old AND a four year old isnβt always easy, but this one kept both of them engaged.
Classes run throughout the school term rather than as a casual drop in activity, with trial classes available if youβd like to try it before enrolling.
Bellvista Meeting Place is also such a handy location with little ones because thereβs a playground right next door and ponds nearby where you can spot the ducks, so itβs easy to make a whole morning of it.
We visited November 2025. While we do our best to keep our listings up to date, information can change. We recommend checking Making Rainbows Sunshine Coastβs social media or website for current term dates, pricing and class availability before visiting.
