As a first time mum, I was always a little nervous about taking my oldest to a playgroup with bigger kids. Then as a mum of two, I found it harder to get that same one on one time with my youngest, which is why I really loved Mainly Babies.
From the moment we arrived, it felt warm and welcoming. The session included music and movement, storytime and a Time to Talk, where you could join in the conversation or simply sit and listen.
There was also parachute play and bubbles, plus a moment to share something you’re grateful for. I really loved this part because in the mayhem of parenthood, it can be easy to forget to pause and appreciate the little things.
Mainly Babies is held at Lifepointe Baptist Church, so it’s worth knowing that there may be some faith based songs included throughout the session.
The morning wraps up with morning tea, giving everyone a chance to sit, chat and connect with other mums in a really supportive space.
If you’re not sure whether you want to commit to the full program, it’s worth getting in touch with Mainly Babies to ask whether trial sessions are currently available.
