We were especially keen to find the 24 metre Horsmans Creek suspension bridge, and after a little trek to get there, our little one’s excitement when he finally spotted it didn’t disappoint.
The full Lake Weyba Foreshore Walk is 3.3km one way, but we only explored the section from Charlotte Drive to the suspension bridge, which was plenty for us with a little one. The trail winds through wetlands and along the lakeside before reaching the bridge, so it feels like a proper little adventure.
One thing you’ll definitely want to check before heading out is the tide. Parts of the track are subject to seasonal inundation and tides, and when we visited the tide was heading out, so there were still plenty of wet and muddy sections to navigate. Our toddler wasn’t complaining though, he ditched the shoes and was very happy squelching his way through.
We’d also recommend packing insect repellent because you’re walking through wetland areas where the mozzies can be out.
And full disclosure, we brought the scooter because the beginning of the path had us convinced it would be a great idea. It wasn’t. I ended up carrying it for most of our walk, so we’d definitely leave the little wheels at home for this one.
You can continue further along the foreshore if you have the time and energy, with different access points along the full trail. Just keep in mind that it isn’t a loop, so you’ll need to account for the return journey too.
We visited May 2025. While we do our best to keep our listings up to date, information can change. We recommend checking the business’s website or social media before visiting.
