A playground at the beginning and end of a bush walk was always going to be a winner with our little ones, especially when there was also the possibility of spotting a koala along the way.

We originally found this one through Sunshine Coast Council’s Sunday Adventures, and while it was the name that initially caught our attention, we were pleasantly surprised by what we found when we arrived.

We explored the approximately 1km recreation loop, which took us less than half an hour with our toddler spending some of the walk on shoulders. It’s a short bush track through the reserve, but there are some undulating sections and a steep set of stairs depending on which direction you tackle the loop. We went left and found the stairs towards the end, but didn’t find them too difficult.

There is a rest area along the track with seating and beautiful views, which would be a great spot to stop for a mid walk snack before continuing on.

Once you’re finished exploring, you’re back at the playground and picnic area, where you’ll also find BBQs, shelters, tables and toilets. It’s a great setup when you’ve got little ones who somehow still have energy left after the walk.

We spent plenty of time looking up into the trees as we walked, but unfortunately didn’t spot any koalas on our visit.

We visited May 2025. While we do our best to keep our listings up to date, information can change. We recommend checking the business’s website or social media before visiting.
