This is a special spot for us because it’s somewhere we used to explore as kids, and getting to come back and introduce our own little ones to “mountain climbing” made it even better.

There are a couple of different tracks you can take to reach the summit from Havana Road East. We started from the entry closest to David Low Way and came back down via the other path, which made it feel like a little adventure rather than simply walking up and back the same way.

Our little one alternated between riding on Dad’s shoulders on the way up and walking down all by himself. It’s a short climb that’s manageable for little legs, although the track is uneven in places, particularly towards the top, so we’d recommend enclosed shoes and taking your time.

Once you reach the summit, you’re rewarded with beautiful views across the coast and hinterland. There is very little shade along the walk, so we’d recommend bringing hats, water and sun protection and choosing a cooler part of the day, particularly during the warmer months.

We visited May 2025. While we do our best to keep our listings up to date, information can change. We recommend checking the business’s website or social media before visiting.
