One of our lovely Little Sunny Coast mums recommended this one to us, and it was such a fun find. The kids loved wandering along the boardwalk looking for fish, crabs, birds and anything else they could spot amongst the mangroves.

The boardwalk itself is a gorgeous short walk with just the right amount of adventure to keep little ones curious and engaged along the way. We spent most of our time stopping to look down into the mangroves to see what we could find, which made such a simple walk really fun for the kids.
We started near Onslow Street and followed the boardwalk through to Monash Street. Just keep in mind that the boardwalk isn’t fenced, and when we visited there was a slight drop down into the mangroves, so we kept our little ones close as we walked.
If everyone still has energy afterwards, you can continue along the Golden Beach Esplanade coastal pathway. We also found a few mozzies around the mangroves, so we’d recommend throwing some insect repellent in your bag before you go.
We visited April 2025. While we do our best to keep our listings up to date, information can change. We recommend checking the business’s website or social media before visiting.
