A Morning in Aura With Kids

I recently spent a morning exploring Aura with my three year old, and it ended up being such a simple but really fun morning together. A playground, coffee and a treat, a little scavenger hunt and some duck spotting along the way.

Whale Park – Great Keppel Way, Banya

We started our morning at Whale Park, which was an instant hit. The giant whale is obviously the star of the playground, with plenty to climb and explore, along with swings, sand play, a cycle loop and lots of space to run around.

There are toilets here too, which always gets a big tick from us!

Mummy’s Cafe – 1 Tucker Street, Bells Creek

From there, we headed to Mummy’s Cafe for a coffee and a treat.

We love finding cafés where little kids are actually thought about, and this is definitely one of them. There is a fenced play area at the café, plus another playground and bike path right next door, so there is plenty to keep little ones busy.

Aura Brook Scavenger Hunt + Walk – Archibald Crescent, Nirimba

We finished our morning with a walk around Aura Brook, but instead of just going for a walk, we turned it into a scavenger hunt.

My three year old loved having different things to search for along the way, and spotting the ducks ended up being a real highlight too.

More playgrounds to explore around Aura

There are so many playgrounds throughout Aura, so there are plenty to check out while you are in the area.

  • Baringa Forest Park | Eden Drive, Baringa
  • Dino Park | Terrence Avenue, Nirimba
  • Pedal Park | Steiner Crescent, Baringa
  • Hilltop Park | Windward Promenade, Banya
  • Space Park | McKinlay Crescent, Baringa
  • Glider Park | Gingera Street, Banya

It was nothing complicated, but that was probably what we loved most about it. A few different stops, plenty for my three year old to do and, importantly, coffee for me along the way.

Sometimes those simple mornings end up being the best ones.
